Mark Viduka was left ruing the chances that never came his way in Saturday's 1-1 derby draw with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, reports the Evening Chronicle.
While Michael Owen had a couple of half chances, Viduka never really looked like adding to his tally of three Premier League goals for United.
And after the game a disappointed Viduka said: "I did not get a clear-cut chance all game and to be honest there were not many opportunities for us.
"But we could easily have nicked it through Michael and Oba Martins after we showed a lot of character to come back after Sunderland's goal, especially in this sort of environment.
"In the first half I thought we were too deep and did not go forward as a team, but in the second half we started to pass the ball and came close to nicking it.
"But having said that, I was surprised when James Milner's effort went in. But the main thing is that it did go in."
