Newcastle's Ramage fears season over

Peter Ramage fears he's out for the season at Newcastle United after suffering a knee injury.

Ramage revealed he tore 70% of his cruciate ligament in the derby match with Middlesbrough as he told the Evening Chronicle: "I knew something was wrong straight away when my knee buckled.

"I felt my shin go one way and my thigh go the other.

"It was pretty painful. I've never done anything to my knee before, so I didn't know what I had done. It wasn't until I went for a scan that I knew the extent of the injury.

"They didn't let me put any weight on my knee until then. I went down for the consultation, and came back with a new knee.

"I'm going to miss the majority, if not the whole of the season, and I've prepared myself for that."
