Newcastle's Barton could lose anger-management mentor

Newcastle United midfielder Joey Barton's latest alleged on-field clash has left his anger management mentor exasperated.

The People says sources close to sports therapist Peter Kay say he is "extremely disappointed" his star patient has again hit the headlines for the wrong reasons.

The fiery Newcastle United midfielder faced trial by video tape after cameras appeared to capture him taking a swing at As ton Villa's Shaun Maloney.

And although FA chiefs decided against taking action against the 25-year-old firebrand, Kay has issued Barton with a final warning.

Breach Huyton-born Barton is set to hold crisis talks with his anger coach because being dropped by the clinic will be a direct breach of his bail conditions and he will be hauled before the courts.

If he is ditched it would be a massive blow for the player with Kay expected to be a key character witness at Barton's court case to face serious assault charges.

A clinic insider said: "It's fair to say Joey's treading a very thin line at the minute and he might find himself out on his a*** very soon."
