Newcastle United youngster Conor Newton enjoyed his performance in their U21 defeat to Manchester United.

A midfielder by trade, Newton excelled at right-back and put in some crunching tackles.

Newton told the Evening Chronicle: "I can play there. It's always good to have that on your CV.

"I'll play wherever they want me too, but I can play in central midfield or right-back."
