Jonas Gutierrez says everyone at Newcastle United are happy with the leadership of captain Fabricio Coloccini.

Although not a tub-thumper in the tradition of his predecessor Kevin Nolan, Coloccini can get his point across.

The Sunday Sun says he played a key role in helping to broker peace between the United board and Joey Barton after his Twitter explosion earlier in the season.

"He is a very good leader," Gutierrez confirmed.

"He talks when he has to talk. He doesn't just shout because he wants to shout - if he has to do it you know that he means it.

"You know that he wants to get a message across."
