Newcastle United winger Yoan Gouffran expects to be available for their clash with Southampton later this month.

Gouffran's shin injury is not as bad as first feared and the player walked unaided on to the plane back to Tyneside on Saturday afternoon, says the Evening Chronicle.

The Frenchman had made a trip to hospital after Kyle Walker's reckless challenge but despite fears that he'd broken his leg an x-ray delivered some good news.
