Newcastle United striker Luuk de Jong has labelled his side's performance against Fulham on the weekend as 'boring'.
The Magpies lost 1-0 to the bottom side at Craven Cottage on Saturday with Dutch forward de Jong apologising to the travelling fans for an extremely subpar showing from he and his teammates.
"We wanted to win this game, of course," he told the Shields Gazette.
"I think the game was quite boring for the fans - not much happened - and we didn't score from the moment when we had a big chance.
"Afterwards, they got a good chance and scored.
"[But] it was amazing support. There are always big numbers at the away games.
"You can always hear them during the game.
"We wanted to win this game for them. We wanted to give a little bit more."
