Sevilla striker Kevin Gameiro is being watched by Newcastle United.

The People says Toon chief scout Graham Carr was at the Estadio El Madrigal on Thursday, when defending Europa League champions Sevilla beat fellow Spaniards Villarreal 3-1 in the last 16 of this season's competition.

Carr hardly had time to settle in his seat when he saw 27-year-old French international Gameiro set up a goal inside 14 seconds for Vitolo - the fastest in the history of the Europa League.

Just for good measure, Gameiro helped himself to a 50th-minute goal which wrapped up the victory for Sevilla.

Liverpool, who are also interested in Gameiro, are rumoured to be preparing a £10million bid.
