FC Twente striker Luuk de Jong is furious being blocked from signing for Tottenham.
The Daily Star Sunday says De Jong has hit out at the £16million fee slapped on his head by FC Twente.
Newcastle had an initial £8m bid turned down and are believed to have increased that to £10m. Twente boss Steve McClaren warned it would take "stupid money'' to land de Jong and chairman Joop Munsterman agreed.
De Jong said: "I fell off my chair when I heard Munsterman."
