Newcastle United are chasing FC Twente striker Luuk de Jong.

The Daily Mail says Toon see De Jong as a potential replacement for Demba Ba.

The Magpies have scouted De Jong several times over the last two years and believe they will be able to get him for the £7m Ba's departure would bring.

The 21-year-old, who already has seven Dutch caps, scored 25 goals for Twente last season and manager Steve McClaren has admitted it will be hard for them to keep him.
