Newcastle United and Sunderland are chasing Celtic defender Jason Denayer.
Denayer is currently on-loan at Celtic from Manchester City.
The Daily Star says the Belgian is on the summer shopping list of Northeast rivals Newcastle and Sunderland.
Mike Williamson is set to leave Newcastle in the close season and there are also question marks over club captain Fabricio Coloccini, who has endured a poor campaign.
Sunderland are in the market for defenders with Wes Brown, 36, out of contract next month.
Seb Coates and Santiago Vergini are only loanees leaving skipper John O'Shea as the club's only experienced central defender.
