Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson has revealed that he hates being substituted when he is on a hat trick.
Managers often face a conundrum late in games when their strikers are chasing more goals.
While the forwards, such as Wilson, want to stay on, they may need a rest to stay sharp for future matches.
He told the Footballer's Football Podcast: "I've nearly had fallouts with my manager when we're on two goals, hitting the crossbar and everything, thinking it's coming, it's coming. Next minute, you're off. I'm like nah, nah.
"It's my worst nightmare, I hate it with a passion, and that's probably the only thing I do hate in football. It's when you're on a hat-trick and you get subbed off on two, and there's still 20 minutes to play and you're thinking phwoar, there's plenty of time here.
"It's like 'nah, I don't want you getting injured, save it for next week'. I'm sitting there fuming!"
