Newcastle striker Wilson: Champions League qualification definitely on!

Newcastle United ace Callum Wilson insists the ball is very much in his side's court as far as Champions League qualification is concerned.

The Magpies are third in the Premier League, level on points with fourth placed Manchester United.

With Tottenham, Brighton, Liverpool and others chasing, Wilson is confident his team can do what it takes to secure top four and Champions League football for next season.

Wilson told the Footballer's Football Podcast: "Looking up where? We're there big man! We're looking below.

"That's starting to become a bit of a reality where we're finding ourselves in a position of third in the league. Teams around us to play, it's an opportunity that is presenting itself in front of us. You want to take it with both hands.

"The ball is in our court now, it's still a long way to go but we've got a game in hand on teams below us. More points than Tottenham at the moment as well, it's an opportunity we have to take. If we don't, it'll probably something we look back on and regret massively.

"I will miss you guys when I'm there and not able to do this [podcast]! Joking, I think any player at club level, it's the pinnacle to play in the Champions League. That's an opportunity which might hopefully present itself one day in the near future."
