Newcastle United striker Ayoze Perez was satisfied with his debut season in the English Premier League.

The 21-year old joined the Magpies from Spanish side Tenerife last summer and managed to score seven goals in England's top flight.

"I feel very good (about my first season)," said Perez in the Shields Gazette.

"Obviously, we achieved our goal (on the last day) and stayed up, so I'm very happy.

"I didn't expect to adapt to English football so quickly, but I think I did adapt.

"Literally, I achieved all my goals. It was beyond my expectations, so I'm very, very happy."
