Newcastle United striker Andy Carroll is delighted with this maiden England call.
Carroll has scored seven times this season and created five goals for his team-mates this term but he drew a blank in United's 0-0 draw with Fulham today.
Carroll told the Evening Chronicle: "It's great for me but not just me for my family and my team-mates and all of the staff at Newcastle United."
