Newcastle striker Ba apologises to Reading

Newcastle United striker Demba Ba has apologised to Reading for his 'handball' goal in their 2-2 draw on Saturday.

The apology was meant, but only Ba knows whether the same applied to his actions, which went unspotted and unpunished by referee Andre Marriner.

"He said (it was handball) himself and apologised to our keeper that he had handled the ball," revealed Reading defender Kaspars Gorkss.

"Fair play to him but if the ref doesn't see it then it doesn't count."
