Newcastle United are closing in on Ajax midfielder Vurnon Anita.

Anita has been watched by Newcastle over the last 12 months and would arrive as a replacement for the off contract Danny Guthrie.

Anita would become the Magpies' second signing of the summer after they recently completed the acquisition of French star Romain Amalfitano.
