Newcastle United captain Fabricio Coloccini is aware of interest from Liverpool.

Argentina international Coloccini, 29, was also quick to once again dismiss speculation he could be set for a January move.

He said: "I have never wanted to pay attention to rumours about offers from other clubs. I have experienced this at many clubs and the best thing is to focus on your work and wait for developments.

"One of the names mentioned was Liverpool, but I haven't spoken to anybody. And I don't think Newcastle are thinking about my exit."
