Newcastle United chiefs are set for crunch talks with Fabricio Coloccini.
The Daily Mail says Newcastle will try to persuade captain Coloccini to stay at the club at least until the end of the season when the two parties hold crucial talks in the North East on Wednesday.
The Argentina international, who has told the club he wants to return to South America to resolve personal issues, has called his advisers and lawyers to the meeting with Newcastle manager Alan Pardew, managing director Derek Llambias and club lawyers.
Despite presumptuous reports from Buenos Aires that Newcastle have agreed to tear up his contract, which still has more than four years left to run, Newcastle are hoping to secure Coloccini's services for the rest of this season at least.
