Newcastle United are tracking PSV Eindhoven winger Jeremain Lens.
Lens has been linked with the Toon as manager Alan Pardew seeks a wing signing for next season.
The Evening Chronicle says United initially showed interest in Lens with the player believed to be the subject of one of chief scout Graham Carr's talent-finding missions.
Lens joined PSV last summer in a player-plus-cash deal, despite interest from United and a host of other Premier League sides including Wigan Athletic, Wolves and Sunderland.
But it is testimony to United's hard-working scouting system across the continent that Lens, who has scored eight goals in 31 appearances for PSV this term, has remained on Newcastle's radar.
