Newcastle Jets midfielder Jobe Wheelhouse was involved in a car accident on Tuesday and was lucky to escape serious injury.
The 24-year old suffered a cracked sternum in the crash and is now unlikely to play in the Jets Asian Champions League clash with Nagoya Grampus on Wednesday night.
"I was a bit shaken up yesterday, and obviously the day it happened, but I'm all right," Wheelhouse said yesterday.
"I went to the John Hunter and the scans show a cracked sternum, but I'm seeing [doctor] Neil Halpin tomorrow and we'll probably have our own scans done and decide from there.
"Our physios don't think it's that bad because I can walk around and I'm not in excruciating pain."
