Newcastle's Taylor urges England to respect France

Newcastle United defender Ryan Taylor has warned the England team to show full respect to France at Euro2012.

Roy Hodgson's Three Lions take on Laurent Blanc's Les Bleus in Donetsk on Monday and Taylor hopes his fellow countryman do not underestimate the French, especially Toon teammates Yohan Cabaye and Hatem Ben Arfa.

"Yohan from the start, he just adapted to the Premier League like bread and butter. He was fantastic and I'm sure at £4million, he was probably one of the bargains of the season," Taylor told Sky Sports News.

"Ben Arfa came on late. I think he came on sort of halfway through the season and to be honest, if he fancies it, he could cause some problems in the European Championships.

"I would even go as far to say that if France go all the way he could be the star man.

"We can't underestimate France in any way, shape or form. We've got to get at them and we've got to dig in because they're a good team all round, so hopefully we can get the job done and keep the two lads quiet."
