Newcastle United are joining Liverpool in their pursuit of AZ Alkmaar winger Rasmus Elm.
Both Toon boss Alan Pardew and Liverpool's Kenny Dalglish were hoping to see Elm on the weekend, only for the Swede to miss their game with Feyenoord.
Sources close to AZ revealed that Newcastle were showing a keener interest in their prized 24-year-old, says the Daily Mail.
The £7m-rated Elm is likely to be sold in summer, with Newcastle and Liverpool leading the chase for his signature as other European clubs' interest has seemingly cooled.
