Newcastle United have pulled out of a deal to sign Dutch defender Douglas, according to reports on Wednesday morning. The Brazilian-born stopper is available on a free transfer after leaving FC Twente, and an agreement with Newcastle was on the cards.
Sky Sports understands that the decision was made by new director of football Joe Kinnear.
