Newcastle United are showing strong interest in FC Twente striker Luuk de Jong.

The Journal says Newcastle have assembled contingency plans in the event they lose Demba Ba - which include a move for January target De Jong.

Toon boss Alan Pardew has seen the FC Twente forward in action several times and Dutch reports suggested an enquiry has been made about his availability.
