Newcastle United are considering a shock move for Sunderland fullback Phil Bardsley.

The Sunday Express says it's believed Toon director of football Kinnear has made enquires about bringing Bardsley to St James' Park.

Fulham and Blackburn Rovers are also interested in the full-back, who was named Sunderland's player of the year the season before last.
