Newcastle United players and staff have missed out on an end-of-season bonus from owner Mike Ashley after they failed to grab a top-ten spot in the Premier League.
The Magpies' run of eight successive defeats under caretaker coach John Carver has ended any hopes of a finish in the top half of the table which would have resulted in a payout for all playing and coaching staff at St James' Park.
The bonus pot was agreed in September - as per Premier League rules - but unlike last season, Newcastle have fallen short of their own target of the top 10.
