Newcastle plan to clearout fringe players

Newcastle United are ready to clearout their fringe players this summer.

The Evening Chronicle says United will assess both striker Adam Campbell and midfielder Conor Newton again in pre-season after loan stints with St Mirren, while Haris Vuckic and James Tavernier (both currently on loan at Rotherham) and Curtis Good, who is spending the rest of the season at Dundee United, will also return to the squad next July.

But it is also understood United are ready to listen to offers for Northern Ireland international Shane Ferguson.

Both Romain Amalfitano, on loan at Dijon, and Mehdi Abeid, currently with Panathinaikos, could also be facing the exit door.
