Newcastle United are eyeing Crystal Palace goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.

The Toon are in the market for a new keeper with Nick Pope sidelined for four months due to a shoulder operation.

Newcastle have been linked with free agent David de Gea and Arsenal's Aaron Ramsdale.

But the Daily Star says Newcastle believe they can land Johnstone for a cut-price £8m.
