Newcastle United appeared to have made a third bid for Flamengo wonderkid Matheus Franca.

The Magpies are keen to sign the Brazilian this January to strengthen manager Eddie Howe's squad.

Per journalist Venê Casagrande in Brazil, Newcastle have put in several offers to Flamengo.

The first was a €13 million offer, which was raised to €14 million and bonuses.

Another offer has also gone in, but even that has not satisfied the Brazilian club.

At present, Newcastle will have to raise their offer significantly to secure the transfer.
