Newcastle midfielder Sylvain Marveaux has undergone successful surgery in America but is looking at four months out to recover. The Frenchman, a summer arrival at St James' Park from Rennes, went under the knife at the Steadman Clinic in Colorado.
Boss Alan Pardew said: "Marveaux had a successful operation in America, so we are really pleased about that.
"We think that's going to be three to four months, perhaps four months, but it was a very successful operation."
