Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer says Alan Pardew must accept his ban without complaint.
Shearer says that Pardew will take his punishment on the chin after being handed a seven game suspension for his clash with Hull City midfielder David Meyler.
Shearer told ITN: "Managers have a responsibility.
"Players have a responsibility, and so do fans also. But I get that tempers can be lost at times.
"It's difficult for managers to do that particularly the way that Alan did.
"He regrets it and he's apologised.
"And I'm sure he will take his punishment on the chin so to speak.
"He's apologised, he's aware he can't and shouldn't have done that. So I'm sure he will take his punishment and he'll have to sit it out I'm afraid."
