Newcastle United are emerging as the club most likely to sign former Burnley midfielder Jeff Hendrick.
The Republic of Ireland star is out of contract after his deal at Burnley ran out.
He is looking for a new club, and there is interest from the likes of Roma and AC Milan in Italy.
But The Guardianreports Hendrick will sign for Steve Bruce's Magpies instead.
The 28-year-old wants regular football and a Premier League stay also appeals to him.
He played 24 games this past season, scoring two and providing two assists as well.
Manager Sean Dyche did not want to lose him, but finances dictated Burnley's lack of ability to offer renewals to many of its players.
