Newcastle United goalkeeper Rob Elliot hopes he's impressed manager Alan Pardew during their New Zealand tour.

Elliot is eager to push Tim Krul this season.

Elliot said: "You have to keep working hard and showing the manager that you're there and you want to play.

"It's pre-season so just trying to get back in the swing - it's nice to keep a couple of clean sheets."
