Newcastle Jets coach Branko Culina says the club will continue to fight until there is no longer a chance of making the A-League's final six.
The Jets have dropped their past three matches making life very difficult are they are now four points out of the finals race.
With four regular season matches left, Newcastle are still a chance of sneaking in but will need results to go their way whilst winning at least three of their remaining matches according to Culina.
''I still think it will take to the last game,'' Culina said. ''I've said all along that I believe 40 points will be enough to make the finals.
"We're about nine shy, so we're a fair way shy, but mathematically it's possible and if we keep playing the way we did today and competing it's still not over.''
Newcastle land in Melbourne today after their trip from Wellington, where they lost 1-0 to the Phoenix yesterday. They will now prepare for Wednesday's vital clash with fifth-placed Melbourne Victory at Etihad Stadium .
