Newcastle Jets chances of taking the top two A-League teams within four days has been given a boost with news that stand-in captain and key defender Ljubo Milicevic will be fit for tonight's clash with Brisbane Roar.
The former Socceroo was in doubt as late as yesterday after he strained a hamstring late in the 3-1 win over Adelaide United on Saturday but has revealed that he is fit to take on the league leaders.
"I spent all day getting treatment and did not have any problems what so ever," he said after training yesterday.
And Milicevic was eyeing another big scalp in the shape of the in-form Roar after already brushing aside the Reds.
"The leadership group had a chat with (coach) Branko (Culina) after training. Adelaide was a good challenge and this is the next one," Milicevic added.
"We knocked off the second team [on Saturday], now it's time to knock off the top team."
