Newcastle Jets to have crunch meeting with FFA

A-League club Newcastle Jets will hold crunch talks with Football Federation Australia this week as it remains in danger of folding.

The Jets are under a lot of pressure financially and may be forced to close down if FFA do not come to the table with assistance prompting a meeting to be held today.

Club chief executive John Tsatsimas admitted things were not looking rosy for the Jets unless FFA were able to help out in some capacity.

"It's a big concern and we're having more discussions with the FFA tomorrow but it can't go on," Tsatsimas said after the Jets drew 0-0 with the Brisbane Roar yesterday.

"It has to have some sort of end to it and now, because it will play on players' minds.

"... We are at an impasse and I don't resile from that.

"It's a major concern from where I sit because we have people who have been united for two weeks now, but there comes a point where that will end.

"Everyone's been very patient and they were brilliant today so it's totally understandable where they're coming from."
