Newcastle Jets have their minds on Wednesday's F3 derby with Central Coast Mariners before they worry about their visit from LA Galaxy. Branko Culina's men have returned to form with two wins and a draw in their past three outings and are now worried about getting some more points when they host the Mariners tomorrow night prior to Saturday's exhibition match against David Beckham and the Galaxy.
Culina said it was important the club got the business pout of the way before they focused their attention on the fun.
"We can't control the media and what the media write about the Beckham match," Culina said yesterday.
"It's a fantastic thing for the region and Australia that we've got such a big match.
"But for us, we don't get any points for the Beckham game but we do for the Central Coast game and that's where we need to focus.
"Until that is over, we won't be thinking about the Galaxy or Beckham.
"We need to put that out of the picture, because the important thing is to prepare for Wednesday."
