There were some upset results in Week 14 of the 2010/11 A-League season, indicating that the table is not even close to being sorted.
Newcastle Jets returned to form with a brilliant 3-1 result over second-placed Adelaide United which helped them move off the bottom of the table. Marko Jesi was in form with a double whilst Nikolai Topor-Stanley finally scored his first A-League goal in his 89th appearance.
Yesterday, Perth Glory turned an 10-match winless run (which included nine losses) into a 3-1 home win over Melbourne Victory thanks largely to a Robbie Fowler hat-trick. The win eased some pressure on the West Australians who are now just two points outside the top six.
In other matches, Gold Coast United continued their dominance of Sydney FC with a 3-1 win at home led by Joel Porter and Jason Culina as the Central Coast Mariners consigned Wellington Phoenix to their second loss in a row at home thanks to a 3-0 result. Left-back Josh Rose was on fire with a brace.
And finally, league leaders Brisbane Roar showed fight to come back from a goal down to beat Melbourne Heart 2-1 in a weekend that yielded 18 goals in five matches.
