Newcastle United are interested in signing Rob Holding on loan from Arsenal.
The Gunners are set to welcome Gabriel from Lille, who will increase the competition in central defence.
Holding is likely to be surplus to requirements, and Steve Bruce's Newcastle want to take advantage.
And Sky Sports claims Holding is willing to make the move, and Arsenal would be happy to let him go.
It is unclear if any other team in the Premier League has an interest in the 24-year-old.
Holding did start as the Gunners won the Community Shield on penalties against Liverpool after a 1-1 draw.
But with other defenders set to return to fitness, and Gabriel close to signing, he may be out of the team very quickly.
