Newcastle United are confident over a move for FC Twente defender Douglas.

The Telegraph says a deal for Twente centre-back Douglas has virtually been agreed, which should mean that the Brazilian defender moves to Tyneside for around £5 million in the summer.

Toon fans may have to wait to see the transfer rubberstamped as Douglas wants to wait until August when he qualifies for a Dutch passport.
