Newcastle great Shearer: Man Utd's Falcao making life easy for defenders

Alan Shearer believes Radamel Falcao is too easy to play against and has urged Manchester United's coaches to get more out of him.

The Colombian striker, who is on loan from Monaco, endured another frustrating day as United beat Sunderland 2-0 at Old Trafford on Saturday.

Newcastle United legend Shearer, who is the Premier League's all-time leading goalscorer, told BBC's 'Match of the Day' that he feels Falcao is not doing enough to beat his opponents who are finding it fairly easy to deny him scoring chances.

"He's not running in behind at all and making it so easy for the defenders," said Shearer.

"Defenders are quite content with Falcao getting the ball with his back to goal and it's easy. He's shoved off the ball too easily.

"He's got to start running towards the goal and running away from defenders, which defenders don't like - instead of facing up to the ball. He's got to start asking more questions.

"I'm saying to myself, 'Please move.' It happened all game and it's happened in every single game."

Shearer also indicated that perhaps Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal and his assistant Ryan Giggs need to give Falcao further instructions to help him find some semblance of form.

"Come on Ryan Giggs, come on Louis van Gaal, give him a little bit of help," he added.

"I can't see them screaming at him, telling him to do something different, to run in behind.

"They're certainly not telling him in training during the week because it's happening every single game. He's not getting the help I believe that he should be."
