Newcastle United boss Kevin Keegan is having Celtic's prolific striker Scott McDonald watched.

The Australia international was again on target with a double in Celtic's 5-1 victory over Aberdeen and is challenging Manchester United ace Cristiano Ronaldo for the European Golden Boot.

Keegan has been monitoring McDonald since the striker became the subject of an Old Firm tug-of-war between Celtic and Rangers last season while still at Motherwell. The Toon boss sees the diminutive forward's ability to score and create goals as the ideal foil for No1 striker Michael Owen.
