Newcastle Jets have given their fans some joy by earning a win over the Perth Glory at EnergyAustralia Stadium yesterday.
The Jets had a majority of the play for the match but couldn't edge in front of the Glory until the 40th minute when defender Antun Kovacic rose above the Glory defence to meet Kaz Patafta's corner and head into the back of the net.
On 55 minutes, Perth's David Tarka brought down Matt Thompson in the area to hand the Jets a penalty and Mark Milligan had no hesitation in hammering the home side to a 2-0 lead.
Ten minutes later, Wayne Srhoj made a lovely run down the left flank, beating Jets defenders before sending a ball to Scott Bulloch who made no mistake.
This caused a turn of events as the Glory pushed forward and mounted a case for an equaliser but had no luck in doing so.
