Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is delighted with their capture of former Coventry City tyro Gael Bigirimana.

The ball-playing central midfielder has arrived from League One outfit Coventry City on a five-year deal and is expected to challenge for the first team next season.

Pardew told the Evening Chronicle: "I think our fans will like this boy. They will like his style a lot.

"It will be nice for them to see him in the first team. But it is a big jump."
