Newcastle United managing director Lee Charnley is in the process of securing several players to new deals.

The Evening Chronicle says four players are in contract talks with the club.

Behind the scenes, the next few weeks and months will be crucial. Martin Dubravka is close to signing a new deal and Charnley has been in discussions with the representatives of the nucleus of the squad about extending their contracts.

Matt Ritchie, Isaac Hayden and Fabian Schar's contracts are all up in 2021.
