Newcastle defender Mike Wiliamson has agreed to join Wolves on a month long loan, according to reports from Sky Sports.

Williamson has had limited chances at St James Park and despite having featured and scored in the Toon's victory in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday has agreed to make the move to the Midlands.

The deal is expected to be completed in the next 24 hours and will likely go straight into the side as a replacement for injured centre-back Kortney Hause.

Williamson signed for Newcastle in 2010 but has as yet failed to hold down a place in Steve McClaren's team.
