Newcastle United defender Federico Fernandez says manager Rafa Benitez is pushing to bring through a winning culture at the club.

Fernandez has insisted that Benitez is trying to instill nothing more than a "winning mentality" into his players.

He told Sunday Sun: "He is the same manager now as he was at Napoli.

"His idea is to be very, very clear.

"The staff try every single day to talk to us and repeat things to us on the pitch as much as they can.

"You follow his ideas.

"He hasn't changed, for him the only thing that has changed is his club.

"Rafa is very passionate in what he does and what he talks about.

"He explains the different aspects of each training session to make sure we're clear on what we do on the pitch."
