Newcastle United defender Dan Burn believes they can be back at Wembley in the coming months and years.

The Magpies were the unlucky losers on Sunday against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup final.

Despite having more possession, Newcastle could not create enough chances to overcome a 2-0 first half deficit in the game.

"We are proud of what we have achieved in such a short space of time," Burn told reporters post-game.

"When you get to a final you obviously want to win.

"It is such a long time since we have won anything we want to get it done but we will be back again, the club is in a good position to attack these clubs where we have not in the past and we want to remember this feeling and concentrate on the league, and not have this feeling at the end of the season when hopefully we've hit our targets.

"I don't want this feeling again, we need to take this. To feel this low when we have had such a strong year and don't want it to happen again. We will use this and will serve us well for the rest of the season."
