Newcastle defender Burn proud taking captain's armband

Newcastle United's Dan Burn admitted that he never wants to take off the captain's armband after it was given to him in their win over Brentford.

The Magpies battered the Bees in the Premier League at the weekend, winning 5-1.

Burn got the chance to wear the armband in the last few minutes of the game, when Kieran Trippier came off in the contest.

Speaking to NUFC TV, he said: "I'm not planning on taking it off so it's special. Supporting Newcastle as a boy and stuff, you dream of captaining Newcastle.

"It would be great if I could start a game as captain but I'll take anything. It's a special moment for me and for my family."

"Class," Burn added about the atmosphere in the stadium.

"I don't think there's anywhere else like it in the country. We've definitely got the best fans, when the flags are up it gives us that extra bit and I think you saw from the way we started the game. We started off really quickly and it's a tough place to come and play."
